Step 2: Measuring the small intestine. Here with the SASI S Bypass the doctor will start the count and work his or her way up from the colon, bypassing between 2.5 and 3 meters from the colon up. (For the RNY bypass, the count is from the stomach down and about 1.5 meters is bypassed). With the SASI S more of the intestine is bypassed, and the real benefit is that there is only 1 single Anastomosis or connection.
