If we find a hiatal hernia we will have to repair it even though they occur in about 30% of the surgeries by not repairing if the patient can have major problems once they get home. The cost of the repair during surgery is $500us and we provide videos to every patient if we find a hiatal hernia.
The Gastric Sleeve is ideal for patients with BMI's of 42 or less. The different types of Bypass surgeries are ideal for higher BMI patients. If your BMI is 40-45 a SASI or SADI Bypass is ideal. 45+ patients should consider the RNY.
Gallbladder's fail in about 35% of the instances with rapid weight loss be it from diet or surgery. If you have a history of gallbladder issues either current or in your family it is recommended to remove the gallbladder during surgery and the cost is an extra $1000 usd.
